HAYDN: Symphony No. 104 in D major “London”
MAHLER: Symphony No. 5
Maestro Zubin Mehta leads the SOI in yet another symphonic concert featuring the works of Haydn and Mahler. Symphony No. 104 was the last of the so-called ‘London symphonies’ and Spring 2025 Season with which Haydn bid a triumphant farewell to London in April 1795. Symphony No. 5 is undoubtedly Mahler’s most famous work and his first purely instrumental symphony since his Symphony No. 1. It was written during the summer of 1901-02, a time when the composer experienced some of the greatest highs and lows in his personal life.
Box Office: 15th December for Friends of the SOI, NCPA Members and MMMF Patrons & 17th December for Public
