The final concert of the Autumn 2025 Season will be conducted by Martyn Brabbins, Chief Conductor of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. The concert begins with Elgar’s Cockaigne Overture, Op.40 a vibrant orchestral portrait of Edwardian London capturing the bustling charm, pomp, and humour of the metropolis with warmth and affectionate satire. Following this, internationally-renowned violinist and founding Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of India performs one of the most beloved and virtuosic works in the violin repertoire – Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major. The evening culminates with excerpts from Prokofiev’s adaptation of the Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy – Romeo and Juliet, an evocative and dramatic orchestral work of the 20th century.
