The concert program "Birds", premiering on September 16, 2025, at the Palace of the Republic in Almaty, is a powerful tribute to the 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiev, whose music remains a cornerstone of Kazakh cultural identity. Centered around the soaring metaphor of the eagle—embodying dignity, strength, and freedom—the production traces a symbolic journey through birth, adversity, loss, and transcendence, ultimately portraying flight as a spiritual and eternal state.

At the heart of this immersive experience is the SOI Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of acclaimed violinist and conductor Marat Bisengaliev, whose collaboration brings a rich international dimension to the project. Their distinctive sound palette merges seamlessly with Kazakh folk instruments, choir, percussion and synthesizer, creating a monumental, cinematic atmosphere. Through original compositions and reimagined fragments of Tlendiev’s iconic works, the SOI Chamber Orchestra helps bridge cultures, honouring his legacy while exploring new sonic frontiers.
Presented in a single act of 12 musical vignettes, "Birds" is both a personal and universal reflection on human destiny, aspiration, and inner freedom—told through the eternal flight of an eagle.
