New Chamber St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra

New Chamber St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra gave its first concert in the Grand Philharmonic Hall on March 11, 2020. Conductor Yaroslav Zaboyarkin, international competitions’ laureate, is the orchestra’s founder and leader. The orchestra, created with Yuri Temirkanov’s support, consists of young St. Petersburg musicians, the renowned Philharmonic Orchestra artists, as well as the St. Petersburg Conservatory students and postgraduates.

The orchestra’s main goals are to popularize classical music among young people, support young soloists, perform little-known and modern works, create audacious interpretations, preserve continuity of the country’s oldest symphony orchestra traditions. The orchestra offers bright and unexpected programs to the public, actively cooperates with famous artists, including E. Stikhina, N. Baldeyrou, N. Boriso-Glebsky, Zhang Xinyue, P. Osetinskaya, P. Laul, A. Kashpurin, M. Kultyshev, S. Kryuchkova, S. Barkovsky, L. Pitskhelauri, A. Vakha. In addition, the leading soloists of the Distinguished Orchestra of Russia – L. Klychkov, A. Makarova, I. Kozlov, as well as soloists of the St. Petersburg Music House regularly participate in the concerts.
 
The orchestra has performed at prestigious international festivals: The Arts Square, Music Collection, the World Youth Orchestras Festival in Moscow, and the Sirius Spring Festival. Presented a number of Russian and world premieres, featured in multi-genre projects, including concert dramas, and became a participant in international cultural exchange.

The St. Petersburg-Tehran Cultural Bridge project performance in 2025 in Iran was of particular importance, where the orchestra made its debut on Tehran's main academic stage – Vahdat Hall.

Principal conductor of New Chamber St.Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra. Graduated from St.Petersburg state conservatory in 2011 as violinist and in 2016 as Symphonic conductor. Assistant conductor of Paavo Järvi during the European and Japan tours of Estonian Festival Orchestra in 2018, 2019.
 
Yaroslav Zaboyarkin is a laureate and prize winner of international competitions in Russia, France, Croatia, Poland, Italy and Japan, laureate of one of the oldest and most prestigious world conducting competitions – the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors in Katowice. After the contest, Poland's most important music critics wrote: “His leadership of the orchestra was the most fruitful and colorful. It was the brightest performance at the competition” (Adam Rozlach), “Only he was able to infect the orchestra with his passion for music. So much so that the orchestra sounded like never before in my memory” (Dorota Schwarzman, “Polityka”).
 
 
In 2019 in recognition of the merit of the young conductor, Yuri Temirkanov trusted Yaroslav to lead St.Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra during the concert series «Debut of a young conductor». Decades ago it has become a springboard for Temirkanov, Gergiev, Jansons, Fedoseev, Jurowsky. 
 
Yaroslav cooperated with Vadim Repin, Lucas and Arthur Jussen, Polina Osetinskaya, Amit Peled, Frederieke Saeijs, Alexander Rudin, Elena Stikhina, Olesya Petrova, Miroslav Kultyshyev,  Narek Hakhnazaryan, Nicholas Baldeyrou, Nikita Borisoglebsky.
 
For many years Yaroslav cooperates with major symphonic orchestras in Russian Federation: Moscow State Academic Symphony orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, St.Petersburg philharmonic orchestra, and many others. In 2024 for the first time he performed with Shanghai Philharmonic orchestra. Also in 2024 Yaroslav was awarded a “Sighs of times” prize in People’s republic of China for the musical achievement.
